Basic Network Terminology - What is Network Terminologies

Basic Network Terminologies:

  1. Data
  2. Data Rate
  3. Baud Rate
  4. Pick Data Rate
  5. Bursty Data

1. Data:

Raw facts and figures or unorganized form (such as alphabets, numbers, or symbols) that refers to, or represents, conditions, ideas, or objects. Computer's symbols or signals that are input, stored, and processed by a computer, for output is usable information.

2. Data Rate:

Data Rate is the speed of data which is transferred from a computer to another one are speed of per second bytes between two devices, the speed of data is measurable in bytes per second.
at which speed audio and video files are encoded means(compressed), measured in bits per second (see bit rate). The transmission speed of a network. At 100 Mbps (megabits per second) rated 100 Base-T Ethernet is an example of this.

3. Baud Rate:

In telecommunication and electronics, baud is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second are pulses per second. It is a number of distinct symbol changes (signaling events) made for the transmission medium per second in a line of Code or digitally modulated signal. Digital data modem manufacturers commonly the baud as the modulation rate of data transmission and express it as bits per second. Baud is related to gross bit rate expressed as bits per second.

4. Peak Data rate:

This Peak data rate was the fastest data transfer rate for every device, typically available in short bursts during transfer activity, and not sustainable for long periods of time.

5. Bursty Data:

The Burst is a term which is used in a number of the information technology contexts to mean a mean a specific amount of the data received or sent in one intermittent operation. Its contrasted with paced, streamed, or continuous. Simply, every burst operation implies that many threshold has been reached that triggers the burst. Its depending on particular technology, a burst operation can be intermittent at a regular rate or irregular.
